We have been working the dream at our central Wisconsin farm for 9years. Planning and education can make all the differance. Having successful production of herbs, produce, nuts and fruits can happen in a small urban yard to the waste areas of a large production farm. With sustaniable practices this can be a low labor project.
SPRING
* Learn to design and maintain an herb garden. Learn about the individual cultivation needs of culinary and medicinal herbs and how to pick and place your garden.
* From small to large, turn your yard into a bountiful harvest for years to come. Perennials of our forefathers to grace the yard and the table. Planning produces results for years to come.
* Cuttings from a favorite houseplant for gifts or trade. Learn to cut back your leggy winter houseplants so that 1plant = 5. Examples of several types of cuttings and rooting for you to take home to grow.
* Vegetable garden time is almost here. From a container on a patio to a full out garden. Prior planning makes perfect potlucks. Learn to draw your garden, plan and place plants for a good harvest.

* 12 X12 inch is small garden or a doable first step for for a marathon garden.
Summer
* Plant in the summer and take advantage of sales and gardeners thinning their beds. Start a container garden to extend the growing year.
* Start preparing for winter. Get tender plants ready now to bring inside later. Plant medium to large tropicals for winter enjoyment.
Fall
* Time to mulch, cut back, put to bed our gardens. Trim and bring inside the houseplants....plan and dig next year’s garden.
* Greenhouses can be two shelves on the patio or cover ten tables in the pasture.

Winter
* The catalogs are here. Wisely and bravely draw your plans for next spring.
* Trim the woody plants. Learn the best time for trimming trees bushes and flowering shrubs.
* Moving the dream to you - An intensive seminar in grounding the dream into a daily reality. Clarify short range, midrange, and long range goals. Work on your goal in
* Making the big move - What you need to know to "buy the farm" or land. Informational resources from local to federal level. Private groups that assist and guide in wild planting, agriculture, and livestock. Learn in a personalized setting how to access the information that will get and keep you going.
* Available in a seminar or individual basis. *
The lost land between houses and fields, by a road, or by fences and buildings and be productive and beautiful. This can be a space that not only prevents erosion but gives a return. Get ideas on how to best use all your space.
The most varied crop we grow. From 40 ft. nut and fruit trees, fruiting low hedge bushes and brambles, to creeping ground covers of berries and fragrant herbs. Learn how to choose and grow plants for success at your home.
Small animals are a good continual and cheep source of protein. Small farm animals are prolific and quickly table ready. All animals deserve decent conditions. Prior Knowledge of their needs and planning before beginning can give you success in this aspect of agriculture.
Remember: 3 rabbits = 1 rabbit each week served all year. 3 hens = endless eggs. 3 hens + 1 roster = endless chicken dinner.
